LSA Runs Table on Cincinnati Undercard

May 25, 2008

[View Results]

LSA fencers swept the medals in the Open Novice Foil event at the Cincinnati Bearcat Open this past weekend.

With only eight months' of fencing experience (and most of that at ninety minutes per week), Lowell Stevens, Daniel Oliver, and Deric Tarnowski beat out twelve other fencers to secure all the awards for LSA. Had the event been USFA-sanctioned, Lowell would have earned an "E" classification.

The Open Mixed Foil event, on the other hand, might best be termed "an unforgettable learning experience."

A contingent of seven LSA fencers made the two-day trip with their coach, Jason Purcell.
